KOZA

a stand for magazines and newspapers

Project Brief:

Distinctive designs with Marble

Project Duration:

01.2018 - 03.2018

Project Description:

A design contest was held by the Young Creative Ideas Platform for the first time at the 24th Izmir Marble Fair.

The concept of the contest was "degisik" means distinctive and interesting in Turkish.

The aim was to design and then produce it out of marble with the supporting companies.

I worked with a company called Natur Stone in Afyon (a city famous for its marble). We redesigned and produce the Koza together. At the fair, we exhibited Koza with the other 21 designs.

The jury evaluated the designs and the production results and awarded Koza with 2 other designs as the Most distinctive.

KOZA, short name for Pine cone in Turkish (kozalak), is a magazine stand for places like hotel lobbies or airport lounges and etc.

Koza is made of a single marble block without any attachments.

Koza stands on the ground like it just gave all the seeds back to nature and wait for someone to pick it up.

But in fact, it actually waits for you to pick up the information within.
